High School Preperation for the Entire Family

THE HIGH SCHOOL ADMISSIONS PROGRAM (HSAP) provides Ancona families with relevant education, resources and tools to better navigate high school admissions locally and nationally. Starting as early as the 4th grade, families are invited to attend parent education events that unpack the high school admittance process.

Ancona has an excellent track record of placing students in the most selective Chicago high schools (independent, Catholic and public), and our graduates are thriving academically. As our families navigate the high school application process, we encourage them to investigate a wide range of options. We want our families to find those “just right” schools that will best serve a student and allow him/her to thrive, rather than to focus only on those high schools that may be popular in any given year.

HSAP aims to reduce anxieties around the process and equip families with the tools needed to feel confident about their choices for high school. In both large group informational sessions and individual conferences, we provide Ancona parents and students with information about specific high schools and their programs, standardized testing, open houses, application deadlines and entrance tests.

The program has three tiers developed to comprehensively address high school for the entire family. HSAP was created by Middle School Dean Christina Kuszewski Rouches and continues to grow with the collaborative efforts of: our Middle School teaching team; Jacki Neistat, Dean of Student Services; and Tony Gleason, School Counselor.

Please contact Christina Kuszewski Rouches for more information about the HSAP and Jacki Neistat for information about testing accommodations or modifications.
