Kathy Blair Yates grew up in the Chicago suburbs and has spent most of her adult life in Hyde Park. Equipped with a B.S. in Education from Eastern Illinois University and an M.A. from University of Chicago, she taught in Chicago Public Schools for three years. She then worked on education issues in the not-for-profit world for many years—while also tutoring and devoting much time to husband and son—and in the new millennium, she decided to return to the classroom (at the U. of C. Lab Schools) while pursuing graduate work in literacy education at National-Louis University. In 2014 she joined the Student Support Team at Ancona. Kathy finds joy in biking, gardening, reading, and spending time with friends near and far.
