Luca Prazeres

Assistant Teacher, 1st and 2nd Grade

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Luca Prazeres has a BA from San Diego State University and a MA from Brown University. For ten years Luca taught Portuguese language and Brazilian culture courses at Brown University, the University of Virginia, Harvard University, and the University of Chicago. After he and his wife moved to Chicago in 2015, Luca discovered a passion for working with children when he started volunteering at the Erie Neighborhood House. From 2016 to 2018 Luca worked as a Teaching Fellow at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Extended Day program. Luca has a background in performance and loves to read poetry, play guitar, sing, and dance.
