Affording an Ancona Education

The Ancona School is proud of its historic commitment to educating an economically, culturally, and racially diverse population of children; tuition assistance plays an important role in that commitment. Ancona offers tuition assistance as a way to fill the gap between the cost of tuition and what a family, broadly defined, can reasonably be expected to pay. New families who qualify for tuition assistance should expect to receive no more than 50% of the cost of tuition in assistance.

Our Tuition Assistance program is designed to make an Ancona School education possible for all families based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. The Ancona School is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts.

Getting Started with Clarity

To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

Please remember to return to your dashboard after you complete and submit your Clarity Application, as the Ancona School may require you to upload additional tax documentation.

The deadline for completing the financial aid application including relevant supplemental documents is January 15 for both new and returning families.

If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish.

Returning Ancona Students: Any student who is returning to Ancona for the 2025-2026 school year, regardless of previous Tuition Assistance status.

New Ancona Students: A student that is new to the Ancona School, including siblings of current students.

Clarity Application Completion Policy: We require the Clarity application, including all required tax documents, from each of a child's parents. Divorced, separated or never married parents must each complete an application for tuition assistance. Simply stating that one parent cannot or will not contribute to tuition will disqualify your application. If the whereabouts of the second parent are unknown, you must submit a notarized statement from a qualified 3rd party (attorney, clergyman, mental health professional, etc.) verifying the circumstances.

The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.
