Ancona Summer

The safety of our students and their families is our utmost priority. After consulting with public health experts, and taking into consideration Governor Pritzker’s latest guidance for reopening Illinois, we have made the difficult decision that we will not be holding an in-person summer program for the summer of 2020.

But good news! We have reimagined our amazing summer program as a remote program this year. We have developed offerings for campers from age 3 through 8th grade.

Ancona Remote Summer offers educational, enriching, and fun programming for children ages 3 through 8th grade!

Ancona Remote Summer 2020 will be held from June 22 through August 14.

Jr. Camp-in-a-Box! (recommended ages 3 – 6)
$200 per box / limited availability

This offering is meant to keep young children engaged, curious, and exploring through age-appropriate fun activities designed for campers to enjoy. These activities are designed to maximize curiosity and independence for our youngest campers. Every two weeks families will be able to drop by the Ancona School and pick up a curated package of fun and thematic items for your pre-primary aged student to explore! Each two-week “Camp-in-a-Box” will have a variety of games, activities, and other enrichment materials based around a theme such as Exploring & Adventures, Gardening, Puppet Theater, and Mini Makers.

There are also two daily opportunities (Mon – Fri) for your student to socialize (virtually) with other children and other familiar Ancona faces! Each morning from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Jerome Garner will have a fun and interactive Morning Meeting via Zoom so your child can have an opportunity to see some familiar faces and say “Hi!”. This socialization is available again at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. during a Social Lunch hour via Zoom with Jerome Garner!

Ancona Remote Journeys (recommended ages 7 and older)
$100 per class / only 15 spaces per class!

Below you can see our SIXTEEN different class offerings from a wide variety of Ancona teachers and staff. Every class has only fifteen spots so don’t delay! Each class has four class sessions that will be available over Zoom and these class sessions meet twice a week for two weeks either in the morning (10 – 11:30 a.m.) or in the afternoon (1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.). This schedule gives you the ability to sign up and attend ALL of the classes or simply pick and choose which offerings are the most exciting for your student!

Each class description also has the weeks in summer, the days of the week, and time of the day this class will meet included in the class description. Please take note of these scheduled times. You will also receive an informational email with Zoom information regarding the course(s) you have signed up for at the start of each two-week class cycle. For those courses that require materials, Ancona will provide a materials box that can be picked up at the school.
